Milling underfloor heating into existing screeds

If you want to install underfloor heating in your old building, you have various options to choose from. The classic system with heatingscreed, which we have been using for a long time in new buildings, is usually not used in old buildings. The lack of construction height or the high surface weight of the screed often stand in the way of implementation.

If the existing screed has a minimum thickness of around 40 mm, the heating pipes can be integrated directly into an existing screed. For this purpose, channels are milled into the screed using a diamond cutter. The channels are usually between 10 and 15 cm apart. An industrial vacuum cleaner is integrated into the milling machine, which directly extracts the dust that inevitably arises. The heating pipes are laid directly into the ducts, fixed to the floor with temperature-resistant adhesive and connected to the existing heating system or heating circuit manifolds. As the pipes are located directly under the floor covering, this system technology is characterized by a very fast response time.
With good preparation, the installation itself is quite quick. A daily line of around 100 m2 can be assumed.
