Room factory
Stress-free building
The name could be misleading, because the room fabrik does not provide off-the-peg solutions, but develops customized concepts for conversions and new builds as well as energy-efficient renovations for private and commercial customers with high design standards. Headquartered in Münster, the company offers all service levels from a single source: from architecture (interior and exterior) to detailed planning and execution, which is carried out either in-house or by long-standing partner companies. The advantage for clients: one point of contact throughout the entire process as well as high cost and time efficiency without compromising on quality.

Holistic service provider
Founder Sven Schöpker, himself a trained carpenter with his own joinery, developed his business idea when he increasingly noticed how poorly the individual trades were coordinated on construction sites. Schöpker thought that this could be improved and founded Raumfabrik over twenty years ago. The The 10-strong team of architects, interior designers and construction technicians manages projects across all service levels, from the idea to planning and implementation through to the service and maintenance concept. “As a holistic service provider, we bring together design, planning, energy and technical aspects so that the customer has just one contractor and therefore just one point of contact,” explains Schöpker. “There is a responsible project manager for each construction project who oversees the entire process. This takes the pressure off the client, simplifies communication and coordination and guarantees smooth processes.”
The majority of projects are planned and implemented in-house by Raumfabrik. In addition, there is an established network of top-class architectural firms, such as Fourmove Architekten from Münster, with whom the company cooperates. The same applies to the partner companies in the trade. “We rely on companies from the region with whom we have been working for many years in a spirit of trust and who share our quality standards,” explains the Raumfabrik founder and Managing Director. Schöpker’s own joinery takes care of individual fixtures, kitchens and interior design solutions. “For us, quality and value take priority over short-term price competition. Our customers see it the same way. However, the agreed cost and time frame is binding for us.”
Customized solutions for demanding customers
The company mainly realizes conversions of residential properties in the high-end private customer segment, but also commercial projects such as surgeries, law firms and offices that rely on minimal downtime and comprehensive support. Typical clients are families with children or new arrivals who are looking for a stress-free construction process and a partner with local expertise. Thorsten Bertels, interior designer and project manager, explains the Raumfabrik’s professional self-image as follows: “Our customers have high standards and want individual solutions. This applies to structural standards such as energy efficiency and sustainability (passive house standard, smart home technologies) as well as design and craftsmanship. From the initial idea, we develop a coherent overall concept based on the customer’s wishes and our many years of expertise. In the The focus is on a harmonious interplay of aesthetics, functionality and comfort.”
The company’s own showroom in Münster’s city harbor is also designed according to this principle – a first-class reference for the company. Here, the Raumfabrik inspires its customers not only with an extensive selection of material and color samples, but also with examples of intelligently designed, high-quality fixtures and kitchens.

optimal results in time and budget.“

Attractive employer brand
The Raumfabrik concept is convincing. Many customers are “repeat offenders”. The company now also has branches in Düsseldorf and Norderney. The “all-inclusive” offer can really come into its own when it comes to vacation home projects in particular. “In addition to the construction project, we offer our customers various service packages for comprehensive property management,” reports Service Manager Lukas Schröder. “A personal service advisor regularly checks the building and coordinates any maintenance measures.”
The modern, appreciative and creative working environment, regular investment in training and further education as well as above-average remuneration make Raumfabrik an attractive employer brand that is well equipped to combat the shortage of skilled workers. With this focus on employee retention and trusting cooperation with reliable partners and suppliers, the company will continue to secure its performance in the future.
